Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. Below are some of the projects in which we are currently involved:
Area High School students of the month.
Support of youth organizations such as the YMCA, Easter Seals, Big Brother/Big Sisters, Guadian Angel and the Salvation Army.
Annual scholarships to Joliet area high school students
Sponsorship of area youth/adult leadership programs to foster community service.
Sponsorship of Key Clubs, Builders Clubs and Aktion Clubs through local schools and agencies.
Offer Young Children Priority One Program serving children 0-5 by providing books and reading to students in area pre-school programs.
Support of the Joliet Little Libraries.
Monthly cleanup of local Forest Preserve areas.

Young Children Priority One Program (YCPO)
Early childhood education is the key to successful human development. The Young Children Priority One Program (YCPO) is a program that addresses the needs of early childhood development. Club members volunteer to read to children in area pre-school programs such as Valisaca Day Care and the Spanish Center, and distribute books to children and families while there. Joliet Kiwanis supports Free Little Libraries throughout the greater Joliet area, further emphasizing the importance of reading.
Aktion Club
Aktion Club is a service leadership program that provides adults living with disabilities opportunities to give back to their communities, build leadership and decision-making skills, and develop and use their talents. Joliet Kiwanis sponsors Aktion Angels of Joliet.
Key Club
Key Club, is an international service organization for high school students. As a student-led organization, Key Club’s goal is to encourage leadership through serving others. Joliet Kiwanis sponsors Key Clubs at JCA, JT West and JT Central.
Builders Club
Builders Club empowers youth as they navigate this in-between-stage of life. Members develop self-awareness as they discover their passion to serve, their desire to lead and their ability to engage and collaborate with others. Service to school and community become a way of life! Joliet Kiwanis sponsors Builders Clubs at Hufford, Dirksen and Elwood Junior High Schools.
